I agree.

"there is no speaker on this earth which will match with any amp and give still give you good sound" Well said SUB BOSS, 've to do a big exercise in matching the eqmnts, this is waht I observed.

I don’t know guys. I have heard klipsch RF3 with stock and heavily modded rotels, AA Puccini and with a cayin tube amp also. They are lovely with rock/blues but the moment I put soft Jazz or classical, it just doesn’t do it for me. It could be my taste…. somebody else may like it. I am not putting down any speakers. They are good speakers and are used and preferred by lot of audiophiles worldwide. It is just that it does not float my boat. . Makes personal auditions very important when buying your speakers.

That's funny, personal audition is ofcourse important for all equipments and not just speakers. BTW you think we all did a public audition.

i think he meant go audition yourself instead of trusting a review. you'd be surprised how many people go to only one place on recommendation and buy cos there's nothing wrong (on the surface and with one listen) with the equipment. they dont compare at all.

There is a reason why it is usually your third of fourth speaker which will actually work for you. Whatever you buy before that are just lessons learnt the hard way! My comment is to help the newbie. Reviews and recommendations on forums are just guidelines. The original poster needs assistance to buy speakers if you read the subject of his post carefully. So the comments are just to help him out. There are a number of newbies out there who have burnt their fingers badly by making purchase decisions based on hype and reviews. Most I know are software guys in Bangalore. Internet at times is actually an overload of info which can only create confusion. It helps if you know how to filter out the rubbish from the truth. Most learn the hard way. Newbies need to be aware that as they mature in this hobby, they tend to acquire very strong tastes or like/dislikes and upgraditis is just around the corner. So it helps if they do a bit of homework and research even in their first purchase.

Hi all,

reading reviews on this forum has made me familiar with quite a lot of brands which i never knew existed and also helped me attune myself to wot i need to look for... ofcourse it all boils down to personal taste in the end... but reviews and forums like these do help a grt deal.. esp wen the regulars on the forum have no commercial/other interests..

Again in a place like chennai, i cant get to listen to a wide variety of speakers then reviews and expert opinions from well informed peers are wot i have....

am travelling now (even then i log into the forum )
so this weekends auditions get postponed...

Nindo as for ur query even i did a Polk vs Kef...will post mine after shahrukh(his IQ5 shud have reached now)..

this forum rocks.. keep rocking
