Beogram 4500 an B&O Ouverture anschließen funktioniert nicht.

Hallo,

ich habe einen Beogram 4500 erstanden, da dieser über einen integrierten RIAA Preamp verfügt. Mir wurde gesagt, dass ich das Gerät damit dann direkt per 5poligem Kabel an meine B&O Ouverture (AUX EIngang) anschließen kann.

Leider funktioniert das nicht. Ich höre beim Abspielen der Platte lediglich bei voll aufgedrehtem Volume ganz ganz leise die Musik. Ist der Preamp evtl. defekt? Benötige ich einen Adapter? Kann jemand einen externen Preamp empfehlen? Kann man den Plattenspieler evtl nachrüsten?

Ich habe ein Foto des geöffnten Plattenspielers hochgeladen. Vielleicht sieht man, ob überhaupt ein Preamp drin ist.

Hi,

There is no RIAA preamp in the photo.
When the Pick-Up Arm is at rest to the far right, it is suppose to be mounted under it towards the front of the chassis.
B&O Partno. is 8005269 but it's not likely to be found anywhere.

Very strange that the outputcable that should connect to it seems to be mounted in a very original way...??

Is it a Beogram-4500 at all?

Beogram-9500 is exactly the same as the 4500 but without the RIAA-amp.
There should be a label under the the bottom. Perhaps it doesn't say either but has another form of typeno.
Beogram-4500 types are 5951, 5953, 5954 & 5955
Beogram-9500 types are 5966, 5868, 5979 & 5970

Hi tri-comp,

and many thanks for the immediate reply and your help. I´ll have a look if there is any hint for a 9500er. It shows the No 5951 - but the number is only on the cover on the top/backside so this could be changed by another cover withot a problem.

Is there any chance to update the record deck with a pre amp or is there a solution to use an external pre amp to fit it to my Ouverture´s AUX Input?

The original, built-in RIAA-amp was a reasonably good amp.

There is aboslutely no problem attaching an external RIAA-amp between the Beogram and your Overture, BUT....

There are a lot of extremely bad and cheap RIAA's on the market. You may pick up one on the Internet for under 50-Euro and it will be awfull.

The B&O Pick-up, the Beogram and the Overture absolutely deserves a good quality RIAA, so go ask someone professional in a shop near you (...and I don't mean in a Supermarket

)

P.S.
I gave you the B&O partno. for the original RIAA, but it is not so simple to mount it even if you can find it. There are changes to be made to the muting-circuit and power-supply. It is much easier to attach an external RIAA.

Thank you som much tri-comp for your advise. I already spoke to a B&O dealer who ordered a preamp for me (between 40-60 EUR) which should do the job!
