Views on CAIRN systems

Hi,
Has anyone heard of Cairn audio systems? I heard one in Singapore (preowned) and came away very impressed. For the price it was going, felt it was a big bargain. Have reserved it for a buy but just thought will check with forum members about it. The co website is not very helpful and reviews are few.

system is Nanda preamp and MEA monoblocks (100wpc).

Any suggestions on good speakers for this also welcome.

Cairn is one of those less knowh french manufacturers. they are known for their smoothness.

I think most speakers can be driven by them..do you have a budget , sound preferences and the room size ? that will help for speaker suggestions.

BTW are u buying it from Audio note ?

Hi,

Budget for speakers would be btwn 50k-100k.

Room size: I have an option of placing it in my living room (35x16) or Bedroom (20x12). Prefer the bedroom as I have the HT hooked up in the hall already. But can change the set up of the HT to include the amp to be wired to the front L-R and the AVR to be wired to the rest of the 5.1.

But recall reading somewhere about the amp needing to be accomadative for doing this. any views on this? Dont have the user manual for Cairn. So no idea if this is possible.

No I am not buying it from Audionote. They seem to be concentrating more on the Tube amps. Found very few SS. Was willing to go Tube preamp+ SS power. But nothing available there this time. Nothing at Soundscape either. But found a couple of others dealing in preowned that had some good stuff.
