ITV HD Sender: H.222 ?

Hallo, (English follows)

seit 6. May ITV (UK) hat eine "Free-To-Air" test Sendung in HD:

Satellite: 28.5 E (Eurobird 1)
Frequency: 11428 MHz
Polarisation: Horizontal
Symbol Rate: 27500
Service ID: 10510

ABER die meisten receiver "sehen" es nicht, weil etwas falsch ist mit die Kodierung. KingOfSat listet es wie eine "H.222" stream. Es heist, diese Sendung ist nur geeignet für die neue "Freesat" receivern, obwhol sie "FTA" ist und kein CI karte braucht.

Weisst schon jemand ob es in Prinzip möglich ist, diese Sendung mit ein Loewe HD Sat receiver zu empfangen? Vielleicht nach einem Firmware Update?

BUT, most existing HD receivers are unable to recognise the channel, because something is wrong in the stream information. At best, it is recognised as a radio channel.
KingOfSat lists the channel as being "H.222", whatever that may mean.
In British forums, I have found that the channel is part of the "Freesat" initiative, that aims at giving the British people free digital (SD and HD) satellite TV. They only need to buy the hardware and don't need a subscription or a CI card. So, officially, it's FTA, but they did something to the stream so it can't be picked up by standard receivers.
I have also found that the compression is actually H264, and if you can record the stream, it can be played without problems on a PC, for example with mediaplayer classic.

So it seems it should be relatively simple to make existing receivers suitable to recognise and show the channel.
The question is: can a Loewe TV with built-in HD Sat receiver be firmware-updated so it recognises the channel?
Does anyone have any information or thoughts about this?

Hallo almero,

Ich habe es gerade ausprobiert, und habe keinen Empfang des Senders. Mein C52 findet auf diesem Transponder nur einen Sender namens "Brit Shorts". Eigentlich sollte dieses ominöse "h.222" aber auch "h.264" sein, so wie ich das gelesen habe.

Ich teste weiter, und falls ich etwas rauskriege, poste ich es hier.

Der Standard H.222.0 beschreibt u.a. das MPEG-2 Transport-Stream-Format, also die Art und Weise, wie mehrere Audio-, Video- und Zusatzdatenströme (z.B. Videotext) in einen gemeinsamen Datenstrom "gemultiplext" werden. Dieses Format wird generell bei allen digitalen Fernsehausstrahlungen (DVB-T/-C/-S) verwendet, unabhängig davon, ob MPEG-2 oder H.264 als Video-Codec benutzt wird.

Hi almero,

Tja, so wie es aussieht, wird´s wohl nix. Der Sender sendet mit falschen/ungültigen PID´s, mit denen wohl nur spezielle Receiver etwas anfangen können (Freesat).

Ich kenne keine Möglichkeit, die PID´s am Fernseher manuel einzugeben. Meine aber, daß es mit einem PC und passender Software (DVB-Viewer) klappen könnte.

Moin,

Freesat wird noch nicht unterstützt, ist aber geplant. In wie weit die bestehenden Chassis durch Software-Update dafür fit gemacht werden können oder obs nur auf der nächsten Generation läuft steht noch nicht fest.
